Transform Your Routine: 6 Essential Wellness, Nutrition, and Lifestyle Apps

In today’s digital world, staying on top of your wellness goals is easier than ever. Whether you want to improve your sleep, eat healthier, or build better habits, there’s an app for that. But with so many choices, it’s hard to know which ones are actually worth your time. That’s why I created this list - some of my favorite wellness, nutrition, and lifestyle apps -  to help you create a more balanced, vibrant life.

Wellness

  • Insight Timer

If you’re looking for variety and customization, Insight Timer has one of the largest free libraries of meditations, breathwork sessions, and talks from wellness experts worldwide.

Why I love it: I love starting my morning with a meditation. Whether I do it in bed, seated, feet up on a wall or walking, Insight Timer gives me something to start my day calm and focused.

Nutrition

  • ZOE

Zoe is an app that helps you build healthy eating habits, eat more mindfully, and understand your nutrition. The app deliveres science-backed nutrition insights to help you achieve your goals through AI food scoring, cutting-edge research, microbiome data and the world’s largest nutrition study run by ZOE.

Why I love it: The free camera app! Not only has it identified the ingredients in meals I’ve cooked, but the barcode scanner helps me identify if a food item is LOWFODMAP. Plus the graphics are cute!

    Available on: iOS, Android

    Free & Premium Options

  • Monash FODMAP Diet

This year I went on a journey to heal my gut, and the functional nurse I’ve been working with suggested the low FODMAP diet to figure out which foods trigger reactions. This app allows you to look up foods and determine the amount you can eat during the elimination phase of the FODMAP diet that will not trigger symptoms. It also has a diary so when you begin the reintroduction phase, you can keep track of the food you ate and your symptoms.

Why I love it: It simplified the elimination phase, showing me what I could eat and what I should temporarily avoid.

    Available on: iOS, Android

    Paid version only

  • MyFitnessPal

MyFitnessPal is the go-to app for tracking meals, calories, and macronutrients. With a massive food database and barcode scanning (Premium feature), it’s ideal for anyone focused on weight management or improving their nutrition.

Why I love it: It syncs with fitness trackers and Training Peaks, includes recipe logging, and offers daily nutrient breakdowns.

    Available on: iOS, Android

    Free & Premium Options

Lifestyle

  • Apple Reminders

A native Apple app, Reminders makes it easy for you to remember the things you need to do (grocery lists, work projects, content tracking, life to-do lists, you name it). Bonus, you can share lists with friends and family members so you don’t over shop at the grocery store.

Why I love it: I’m a sucker for a good to-do list, and I’ve tried too many to count. What I love about Apple Reminders is that it is native to my iPhone, intergragtes and syncs across all my devices, and keeps me on top of my many to-do lists.

Available on: iOS (mobile, tablet and desktop)

    Free

  • Apple Notes

Notes is the best free place to jot down quick thoughts or to save longer notes filled with checklists, images, web links, handwritten notes, scanned documents or sketches. Like Reminders, it will sync across devices so you can always jot that thought down.

Why I love it: Notes is great when I want to quick type a thought (like the questions I need to ask my doctor), or capture client notes from a session on my iPad with Pencil. I can also link Notes to Reminders or Calendars so everything is in lock-step.

Available on: iOS (mobile, tablet and desktop)

    Free

Your wellness journey doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With the right tools, you can make lasting changes that support a more mindful, healthy, and organized life. But remember: the best app is the one you’ll actually use. Start with one in each category, and slowly build your digital wellness toolkit over time.
