My Favorite Oatmeal

Here is some breakfast inspo…my favorite oatmeal recipe. It is creamy, a little crunchy, sometimes sweet, and packed with protein. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

My favorite oatmeal shown here with blueberries, strawberries and blackberries.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup organic rolled oats

  • 1 cup of water

  • 1/4 tsp cardamom

  • 1/4 tsp cinammon

  • 1 tsp flax seeds

  • 1 tsp chia seeds

  • 1/2 tsp organic maple syrup

  • 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder (I personally love Truvani Unflavored & Unsweetened)

  • 1 - 2 tbsp of your favorite nut butter

  • 1 - 2 servings of your favorite fruit (blueberries, strawberries, dragon fruit, mango…go crazy and mix them up)

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

  1. In a saucepan, combine the rolled oats, cardamom, cinammon, flax seed and chia seeds. Heat the pan over medium heat and sift the dry ingredients around for about 15-seconds.

  2. Add the water and stir occasionally about 3-5 minutes.

  3. Once the mixture starts to simmer, add the scoop of protein powder and drop the heat to low. Mix the powder in well with the oatmeal.

  4. Turn off the heat but leave the saucepan on the burner while you stir in the maple syrup.

  5. Pour your oatmeal into a bowl. Top with fruit and nut butter and enjoy.
